La Blogga Nostra

The latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine (yeah, the one with that creepy Borat on the cover) contains a feature titled “Cyber Cops: Inside the Frightening World of the Web’s Original Crime Blogger,” in which author Sean Woods remarks on how true-crime blogs are having more influence on the mainstream media. Much of the focus is on Trench Reynolds, the North Carolina writer of The Trenchcoat Chronicles. But Woods goes on to offer a “quick rundown of the best true-crime sites on the Net,” which he says includes: MyCrimeSpace.com, HuffCrimeBlog.com, The Malefactor’s Register, 1947Project.com, and CrimeBlog.US. In a note about the Rolling Stone piece, CrimeBlog executive editor Steve Huff of adds his own short list of other true-crime blogs that he thinks also deserve attention. A good resource for people hunting up information about the genuine mean streets.
