The Fortunate 500

Just three months ago, The Rap Sheet welcomed its 200th posting. What you’re reading now is the 500th post. Wow! When we started out in May, I was skeptical of this blog’s ability to stay lively and to attract visitors. No longer. Sometime before the end of the year--heck, probably sometime before the end of November, if the count continues to climb as it’s been doing lately--The Rap Sheet will have clocked in more than 50,000 visitors.

Those of us here take pride in the work we’ve accomplished thus far. And we look forward to bringing you much more news and entertainment, and many more opinions on the course crime fiction (in books, on television, and in the movies) is following. While some critics contend that fiction, generally, is in decline, nobody who’s browsed the mystery/crime fiction stacks of a bookstore lately could, with a straight face, say the same about this genre. We only hope to keep up with the genre’s growth, and celebrate--or chide, as need be--its developments along the way.

Most of all, we have to thank you, the loyal readers of The Rap Sheet. Without you, we’d just be trumpeting our thoughts into the electronic ether. We appreciate your believing in us, and look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

Next stop, 1,000 posts!

I first saw your blog listed on DorothyL. This is the first blog I go to for info about books and movies I am interested in.
Thanks,
