After what seems like years of freedom from book thefts, international headlines are being made by thieves trying to profit from ill-gotten book gains.
Last week in this space, I reported on a book theft in the UK involving a 44-year-old library assistant from Manchester, England. This week on the American side of the pond, Arizona Central brings the story of two people in Nashville, Tennessee, who are accused of stealing a Hank Williams notebook containing notes and unpublished song lyrics from almost 60 years ago. The book is said to be worth up to $250,000.
The Arizona Central story is here.
