I know this comes a day early, but since not everyone keeps up with blogs as obsessively as I do, it’s probably best to note these things sooner rather than later. Anyway, the Sleuth Channel’s 90-minute special entitled America’s Top Sleuths will premiere tomorrow night--Friday, October 20--at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
As we’ve reported before, this show will be based on a recent online poll that asked folks to select their favorite from a list of 25 TV and film detectives, including Jim Rockford, Lieutenant Columbo, Clarice Starling (from The Silence of the Lambs), John Shaft (from the Shaft movies and TV series), and Jessica Fletcher (from Murder, She Wrote). Undoubtedly, there will be plenty of clips to show, but some authorities on this business will also be weighing in with their opinions, among them Kevin Burton Smith, creator of The Thrilling Detective Web Site and a January Magazine contributing editor.
