Michael Connelly has won the 2006 Maltese Falcon Award for his Harry Bosch novel, Lost Light (2003). The Falcon is given out (mostly) annually by the Maltese Falcon Society of Japan to what its members think is the best hard-boiled/private eye novel published in Japan during the previous year. This mark’s Connelly’s second Falcon win; he also picked up the award for his 1993 novel, The Black Ice.
