The Killer Class

It’s funny how these things happen, isn’t it? Earlier this week, blogger Sarah Weinman remarked on how crime novelists making their debuts in 2007--including Jason Pinter, J.T. Ellison, Brett Battles, Marcus Sakey, Robert Gregory Browne, Sandra Ruttan, and Sean Chercover--“may have the highest profiles of any so-called ‘new class.’” And already, there’s a Web site up and running to promote authors of thrillers, mysteries, and romantic suspense novels scheduled for publication next year. As Pinter explains in his Men in Black blog, “We’ve already begun compiling a database of our members, and will be sending out blast e-mails and organizing fun events and promotions as we approach 2007.” Sheesh! If these folks can do so much in just a couple of days, what might they accomplish over the next six months?
