I was out of town when this news broke on Thursday, so only now am I catching up with it. Anyway, seven books from Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden have been shortlisted for the 2025 Petrona Award for Best Scandinavian Crime Novel of the Year:

• Deliver Me, by Malin Persson Giolito,

• The Dancer, by Óskar Guðmundsson,
translated by Quentin Bates (Iceland, Corylus)
• The Sea Cemetery, by Aslak Nore,
translated by Deborah Dawkin (Norway, MacLehose Press)
• The Clues in the Fjord, by Satu Rämö,
translated by Kristian London (Finland, Zaffre)
• Pursued by Death, by Gunnar Staalesen,
translated by Don Bartlett (Norway, Orenda)
