Having very much enjoyed the eight-episode Season 1 of Amazon Prime’s Reacher, based on Lee Child’s best-selling Jack Reacher stories, I was pleased to read recently in The Hollywood Reporter that the second season of that action-TV drama will debut next month.
“The second season,” says the magazine, “is based on Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th book in author Lee Child’s 28-novel series featuring the character. Reacher (Alan Ritchson) gets a coded message revealing that members of his former U.S. Army unit, the 110th MP Special Investigations, are being murdered one by one. Pulled from his drifter lifestyle, Reacher reunites with three of his former teammates (played by Maria Sten, Serinda Swan and Shaun Sipos), who begin to connect the dots in a mystery where the stakes get higher at every turn, bringing about questions of who has betrayed them.”
Unlike what we saw with the previous run of Reacher, which had all of its episodes dropped simultaneously, THP notes that this new season “will roll out more gradually, with three episodes premiering Dec. 15 and the remainder of the eight-episode season coming weekly.”
You can watch a two-minute trailer for Reacher 2 here.
UPDATE: The debut of Reacher’s second season has been moved up by a day, to Sunday, December 14. “The remaining five episodes,” explains Mystery Fanfare, “will stream on Prime Video every Friday, with the finale streaming on January 19, 2024.”

Saw the trailer yesterday and it looks good.
Wondering if they will do it like Bosch: Legacy, which was supposed to drop on Fridays, and yet kept dropping earlier and earlier on Thursdays. Yesterday the final two episodes of the season were on and available before noon my time here in Texas. That was very cool as I watched before all the spoiler fools took to social media to talk about them.
