Box Wins Applause in Japan

The Gumshoe Site brings word that C.J. Box’s 13th novel starring Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett, Breaking Point (2013), has won the 2021 Maltese Falcon Award from Japan’s Maltese Falcon Society. As the site’s Jiro Kimura explains, the Falcon Award is given to “the best hard-boiled/private eye novel published in Japan in the previous year.”

This is the first time Box has received the Falcon Award. Walter Mosley picked up that prize in 2020 for Down the River Unto the Sea (2018).
