Bosch in the Wind

With Season 5 of Amazon Prime’s Bosch set to begin streaming on April 19, a first trailer has been released (see below). Entertainment Weekly reports that this new, 10-episode season—“based on the 2017 novel Two Kinds of Truth, the 20th installment of Michael Connelly’s long-running Bosch book series”—has Los Angeles police detective Hieronymus “Harry” Bosch (played by Titus Welliver)
investigating a murder at a Hollywood pharmacy that exposes a sophisticated opioid ring and compels him to make a risky maneuver.

“We’ve never seen Bosch undercover — he’s a homicide detective, so that’s not part of his job description,” Welliver, 57, tells
EW. “But in the pursuit of this case, he has to go undercover, and he has no cellphone, he has no panic button, he can’t wear a wire, and he has no idea where this is going to take him.” There comes a moment when even his trusty partner, J. Edgar (Jamie Hector), loses contact with him, “and so Bosch is kind of in the wind and completely on his own.”

The Web site Den of Geek makes a note that
Season 5 will arrive as a partial restoration of the show’s status quo, since April 2018's Season 4 was the manifestation of a major sea change behind the scenes that saw showrunner/executive producer Eric Overmyer exit the series to migrate over to fellow Amazon peak TV offering The Man in the High Castle. However, Overmyer’s stay on that series will stand as a one-and-done stint, facilitating his return to Bosch in Season 5 as co-showrunner alongside Daniel Pyne, the man who replaced him for the job in Season 4.

Very good stuff. Like the books much more, but they have done a really good job on this deal.
