Burdens of “Proof”
I was a huge fan of the Vietnam War-backdropped, 1988-1991 television series China Beach, so I’m willing to give that program’s star, Dana Delaney, another shot in Body of Proof, a medical examiner drama that debuts tonight on ABC at 10 p.m. ET/PT. This, despite the fact that Body of Proof displaces--at least for the time being--my beloved Detroit 1-8-7. And in spite of TV Squad critic Maureen Ryan’s concerns about this new show.

I'd rather they bring back CHINA BEACH.
Or Warner Bros. could at least release CHINA BEACH in DVD format. I only have selected episodes on videotape!
Cheers,
Jeff
I want Detroit 1-8-7 back!
Is it a sure thing it is canceled?
I haven't yet seen any confirmations of the show's cancellation, and I hope not to at any time soon. DETROIT 1-8-7 has only begun to demonstrate its range and exceptionalism.
Cheers,
Jeff
I don't watch Detroit 1-8-7, but, overwhelmed by weeks of constant ads, I went ahead and watched Body of Proof. The good: she's a bit like Sherlock Holmes, so far ahead of others that she appears superhuman. Oh, and there are dumb cops. Interesting to see Sonja Sohn (The Wire) on network TV. Delany has some good chops that are best shown when her character actually feels. The bad: For someone who is seemingly surrounded by idiots and still pines for her old job, Delany's character seems to flit through the episode without much care. Perhaps that's the way we are shown she has no friends.
Oh well, I have nothing else on Tuesday, I can give it another viewing.
