Two important things worth doing in the very near future:
• If you have not yet registered your choices for the 2009 Spinetingler Awards, you’d better get cracking. Time is running out! Cast your votes here, and be sure to hit the “Submit” button in every category; otherwise, all of your votes will not be counted. Voting for the Spinetingler Awards will remain open until this coming Saturday, April 25, with winners to be announced on April 30.
Oh, and in case you didn’t notice, The Rap Sheet is in the running for a Spinetingler Award in the category of Special Services to the Industry. If you feel so inclined, please register your interest and faith in this site by casting your vote in its favor.
• And anybody who attended the 2008 Bouchercon in Baltimore or who signed up to participate in this year’s Bouchercon in Indianapolis should have received an official ballot soliciting nominations for books, stories, and people you’d like to see contend for the 2009 Anthony Awards. Those ballots must be mailed back by next Thursday, April 30. Winners will be announced during the Indianapolis convention.
