You’re Busted!
How ridiculous is this? TV Guide puts together a list of what it claims are the “Top 12 Female [TV] Cops of All Time”--a roster that includes Police Woman’s Pepper Anderson (Angie Dickinson) and In Plain Sight’s Mary Shannon (Mary McCormack)--but fails to include either Christine Cagney (Sharon Gless) or Mary Beth Lacey (Tyne Daly) from Cagney & Lacey? Judging by the rest of the rundown, though, the bias is definitely toward characters introduced within just the last decade, so I guess it must’ve been put together by folks too young to remember most of the history of television.

Swear to God, before I opened the link, I KNEW Olivia Benson would be #1
Although Sharon Gless in Burn Notice is giving me pause, Cagney and Lacey was a terrific series. They were tough, smart, real and fun to hang with.
I haven't looked at the list, but Dexter's sister, Deb, is my new hero.
Choosing Stacy Sheridan (Heather Locklear) from T.J.HOOKER over Lucy Bates (Betty Thomas) from HILL STREET BLUES seems a little compromising as well.
Wait a minute, where's Karen Sisco (Carla Gugino)?
And let's not forget Dana Plant (the great Paula Marshall) from "Snoops" (1999).
What? No Christie Love (from _Get Christie Love_)?
