“Tomorrow’s a Mystery”

M.C. Beaton fans have yet another reason for applause with the launch of a spiffy new Web site devoted to her Agatha Raisin series and created for her by her UK publishers, Constable Robinson.

The site invites readers to sign up for a newsletter, gives an overview of the Agatha Raisin books and characters, and offers up a surface-y but fun interview with the author. Beaton reports that the best gift she ever received was in the 1980s when someone gave her a word processor. (Since Beaton has written well over 100 books under her own name, Marion Chesney, plus various pen names, including M.C. Beaton, Sarah Chester, Helen Crampton, Ann Fairfax, Marion Gibbons, Jennie Tremaine, and Charlotte Ward, one can see why she would have appreciated getting a word processor.)

My favorite M.C. Beaton quote from the site: “Stop projecting. Tomorrow’s a mystery. This is not a rehearsal. I’m on stage now.”
