Never Too Late to Make a First Impression

Although Jonathan Littell, the son of U.S. spy novelist Robert Littell, has received considerable press coverage of late for his Grand prix du roman de l’Académie française-winning novel, Les Bienveillantes--most often amid gushing over this “debut novel”--Maxim Jakubowski notes in The Guardian that this novel isn’t in fact the junior Littell’s first.
