Dull Ceremony, ‘Sharp’ Winner

For the second year in a row--and during a ceremony that GalleyCat derides for its B-list celebs, TelePrompter gaffes, and dearth of award winners--author Janet Evanovich has won the Quill Award in the Mystery/Suspense/Thriller category, this time for Twelve Sharp (St. Martin’s Press). Also nominated in the same category: The Lincoln Lawyer, by Michael Connelly (Little, Brown); The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes: The Novels, by Arthur Conan Doyle, edited by Leslie S. Klinger (Norton); Promise Me, by Harlan Coben (Dutton); and Tomb of the Golden Bird, by Elizabeth Peters (Morrow).

The Quill ceremony, which features awards presentations in 18 other categories as well, will be aired on NBC-TV stations on Saturday, October 28.
