The Rap Sheet does very few straightforward book reviews. We generally reserve those for our partner site, January Magazine. Rap Sheet editor J. Kingston Pierce is also January’s crime-fiction editor.
Before trying to send Pierce an advance reading copy or finished review copy (he does not accept electronic versions of books), please shoot him an e-mail note at jpwrites@wordcuts.org, asking for the appropriate snail-mail office address. He will advise you on whether he’s interested in receiving the book. Unfortunately, both The Rap Sheet and January Magazine are short-staffed, and we simply cannot read every work authors and publishers would like to send our way.
And in no case is any promise given that a book sent to January or The Rap Sheet will be the subject of an endorsement or review, either positive or negative.
