Via arch Irish author-blogger Declan Burke, we
receive word that the third of John Banville’s Quirke novels (following
Christine Falls and the not-yet-released-in-the-States
The Silver Swan), written under his
nom de plume Benjamin Black, will be serialized in
The New York Times, “starting in January and running for 15 weeks.” (Presumably, it will appear in the “Funny Pages” section of
The New York Times Magazine, where multi-part yarns by Elmore Leonard and Michael Connelly have previously appeared.) Oh, and the title of Banville/Black’s latest story featuring his quirky, troubled Dublin pathologist? Why, it’s
The Lemur.
