Wow, I didn’t know I had so much power. ;) Novelist-editor Sandra Ruttan writes in her blog:
I think most authors who blog now live in fear of saying they like their new book cover, only to find it picked up on The Rap Sheet as a copycat cover.

It's true. I love the cover of Stefanie Pintoff's In the Shadow of Gotham. (She was here for an At Home tonight). It features the statue of the Angel by the Lake in the middle of Central Park. We talked a lot about the statue, the history of it, the park, etc, but I didn't ask who designed the cover. I normally might have, since I was so taken by the cover, but I was worried it was stock, and I didn't want to upset anyone. I, too, figured it might show up on The Rap Sheet as a copycat cover. You have the power!

ReplyDeleteNever under-estimate the power of having a "rap sheet".
