Jiro Kimura reports at
The Gumshoe Site that American author James Carlos Blake, who’s best known for his tough-edged western fiction (such as
The Pistoleer, 1995), has won the 2007 Falcon Award from the Maltese Falcon Society Japan for his 2003 Depression-era underworld tale,
Under the Skin. That novel was published in Japan only last year. Kimura says that the prize, a “woodcrafted Falcon,” was mailed to Blake.
