Today's announcement sparked me to go out and pick up THIS DARK ROAD TO MERCY, a book that had been on my radar for some time. It's on sale on Kindle today, by the way. So far, I'm loving it! I'm sure I'll be reading some other books on the list that I haven't sampled as of yet in the days to come.

Meanwhile the picks for Best TV mystery episode are hard to understand. Sherlock belongs there but the other four are thought to be better than True Detective, Fargo, Justified, and countless other more worthy TV mysteries?

Jeff, the Mancall Ellroy companion is published by McFarland, not Oxford (I'm editor of the companion series). MWA has corrected the press release

Thanks for the alert, Elizabeth. I have now corrected that publisher information.

Cheers,
Jeff
