A shortlist of nominees will be announced in early February, with the winners to be announced during a banquet in New York City this coming spring.

Friday, November 30, to Sunday, December 2, is the 30th annual Black Orchid Weekend, sponsored by The Wolfe Pack and held in Manhattan. A schedule of events is available here. During that weekend, the winner of the first Black Orchid Novella Award will be announced, as will this year’s recipient of the Nero Award. For more information, click here.

Saturday, December 1, is the nominations deadline for the third annual International Thriller Writer Awards. There are only three book categories--Best Novel, Best First Novel, Best Paperback Original--and a single film category (Best Screenplay). To enter, request an entry form from Vicki Hinze (vkhinze@aol.com). Winners will be announced during ThrillerFest 2008, to be held in mid-July of next year, again in New York City.

And (unfortunately) I feel the need to stress that only one e-mail per person will be considered. Multiple e-mails and nominations of books not published during the eligibility period will not be considered.
