I was introduced to her by Sarah Caudwell, her long-standing friend, and she struck me as a charming and intelligent woman. Even then, however, she recognised that she was more appreciated and far better known in America than in England where todday she is, sadly, almost totally forgotten.Mike Ripleynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16749171.post-55101850811382251712010-04-24T02:57:25.173-07:002010-04-24T02:57:25.173-07:00I'm delighted to find another reader who thoro...I'm delighted to find another reader who thoroughly enjoys Patricia Moyes's books. "Murder Fantastical" is a favorite; let me also recommend "The Curious Affair of the Third Dog." And I think there's another one featuring the Manciples. I'm not as enamored of her books (with Tibbett) set in the West Indies, but Henry and Emmy Tibbett are excellent characters. I do wish they were still in print, but, as far as I can tell, they are not in the US or UK. Thanks for bringing Moyes to a wider audience!Les Blatthttp://www.classicmysteries.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16749171.post-10419662116592624142010-04-23T09:46:37.352-07:002010-04-23T09:46:37.352-07:00Moyes is a personal favorite and I have this book,...Moyes is a personal favorite and I have this book, albeit with a much better cover than the one shown, which is downright awful! Any of her Inspector Tibbet books are worth finding and reading, they hold up well today, are entertaining and Moyes is great at writing character. Thanks for this one!Richard R.http://brokenbullhorn.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
