introduction as Kirkus Reviews’ lead blogger in the Mysteries and Thrillers category. If everything works out as planned, I shall be posting at the revamped Kirkus site once or twice a week for the foreseeable future. At the same time, I’ll continue to write and edit The Rap Sheet, compose Killer Covers, and keep up my usual editing responsibilities for January Magazine. What this new Kirkus gig means is that I can cut back on some other freelance-writing efforts, which is a good thing.
In my debut post for Kirkus, I write about five crime novelists who almost never disappoint, people whose work I turn to whenever I need a dependable, “comfort read”: Max Allan Collins, Loren D. Estleman, Erle Stanley Gardner, Peter Lovesey, and Edward Marston. If you’d like to offer your own top five list of “old reliables”--and I hope you will--click here and leave a comment at the bottom of the page.
Congrats on the new job! I'll be sure to follow along as you keep us all mysteriously entertained (as it were)!
ReplyDeleteJeff, here's hoping you can give Kirkus some sorely need integrity. They are pretty much known to hate anything PWA and Booklist like.
